Richmond - Virginia Beach

Ate at TGI Friday and then back to motel.  Left Courtyard at about 10.00 am
and I drove, for the first time, for about 50 miles towards Virginia Beach.  It was quite an experience, but once I had got the hang of driving on the wrong side of the road, it wasn't too bad.  I think Y was on tenterhooks, but she held up very well.

We had decided that we needed a Starbucks somewhere along the way and when we saw a sign advertising it, we decided to get off I-64 and go find it.  Well, needless to say we never saw another sign advertising Starbucks, but we did find the Williamsberg Outlet Stores and had a little wander around.  I did buy and pair of Sketchers fit-flops, as I had left mine at home.  But other than that nothing really took our fancy.

Back on the I-64 again and then got off the road again when we saw a place to eat.The rest of the journey was quite uneventful until we got near to Atlantic Avenue in Virginia Beach.  The satnav took us to an army base which was on Atlantic Avenue, but we couldn't go through there to get to where we needed.  So after a few wrong turns and recalculating by the satnav, we were still lost!!  We switched satnav off (as she was having a nervous breakdown) and eventually found the correct road and are staying at a Days Inn.

Have decided that we need a strong cocktail tonight, as we don't intend doing anything tomorrow except, perhaps, lie in the sun.  By the by, the weather is going to be great for the next few days.
