Last night decided to go out for dinner to Downtown Asheville. Found a really nice restaurant called Le Bistro. Managed to park the car and walked up to the restaurant and no sooner had we sat down - outside needless to say - the heavens opened and we had a real tropical shower for about 45 mins. Luckily we were under cover, but thought that we would never be able to get back to the car. Our very kind waitress managed to find us an umbrella in their "lost property", so we were able to use that to get back to the car. It was an excellent meal, so all worthwhile.
Continental breakfast in the hotel (again). Not quite as bad as the previous hotel, but not the most brilliant one going.
Left at about 10.00 am and stopped for lunch just outside of Knoxville. Not a bad meal at Ruby Tuesday (seems as if our holiday is just made up of meals!!). Then after passing Carthage and Lebanon - quite confusing really - we arrived at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville, which is quite a complex. See the photos below of the Atrium. Our room is one of those overlooking this.
Food again. We have booked a table at one of the restaurants in the hotel for tonight. We wanted to book tickets for the Grand Ole Opry, but were too late, as the show was only on this evening (Tuesday) and Thursday. As we will be leaving on Thursday, it was a no go unfortunately.
Needless to say that before dinner we decided to have a little cocktail. I had a pear vokdka martini and Y had a vodka cockail with blueberries. Both were really good.
Then off to steak house where we both had the most delicious filet steak. I had au poivre and Y had berenais (or something similar). Terrific.
