2 Days Vriginia Beach

After a brief breakfast, we made our way to the beach - just across the road - and took a couple of loungers with an umbrella.  Tested the warmth of the water with my toe, but as it is the Atlantic, it is still too cold to swim (for me anyway), though the kids didn't seem to find it so.

Had lunch at a beach-side restaurant.  There are loads of them - nearly all serving the same food, but all slightly different.  Have had some great salads.  We came back to the motel and decided to rest for a while.  Yvonne has managed to download books on to her Kindle, so she's very happy.  I spoke to everyone who was available on Skype, so we are now off to the beach again.

Once again, time for dinner.  Life is getting harder!! Then back to the hotel and collapse.

Up bright and early(ish) this morning.  No hot water in the room - only coffee maker - so had to go over to breakfast bar to get hot water for my first cuppa.  Am down to one cup a day, and am getting withdrawal symptoms.  Luckily I took mint tea with me, so all I need is hot water and I will buy more as soon as I find a decent supermarket.

Went  into cafe this morning for a bit of breakfast, as the breakfast provided was not up to our standard.  Then on to the beach again until lunchtime.  In the afternoon I did the laundry and told Y that I would give her the bill at the end of the holiday.  Then back to the beach again and have just come back to the room for a shower and rest before we eat again!!

Must say, the portions are not as big as I remember them to be, and we have had some really good meals.   Am attaching a few photos of the beach, so that you can see how hard life is, and one of Y testing the water with her toe.  I was very brave today and stood in the waves, but there seems to be a very strong undercurrent.
